I wanted to share with you a really simple card with a cute dolphin from the Sea Friends set.

I started by lightly inking a stencil on to the card base. I then colored a separate piece of card stock with the same stencil, cut out the pattern and adhered the hand cut shapes to the card base. With layers of color it creates a big splash!

Thank you Ushii for sharing your creativity and inspiring us all!

This year is really difficult for everyone, including all students and – of course – their teachers. So it’s worth to give thanks to them for everything they do! I created a card with stamp from the Learning is Fun set.

I stamped the image three times and colored every part separately – this way I was able to make my scene more dimensional.

The card base I used was slightly longer then usual (8x4in).  I created a soft ink blended background with cloud stencil and I added some extra clouds from the Puffy Cloud Die Set – I stamped a greeting on one of them in my Misti.

Then I adhered everything with a glue and double sided foam tape, and decided to add some colorful dots and cute little bird from the Holiday Wreaths set.

Ushii is back tomorrow with one final project for May.

Whale Pendant

Are you ready to pull in something besides paper to go with your stamps?Guest Ushii Landia has just the project to show you how you can get more out of your stamps. It’s time to get creative!

When I saw the Sea Friends set I thought that these critters look so cute that using them on cards is not enough! I then thought about pendants – hey, this whale would look awesome as a pendant too! So, of course I had to try 🙂

First, I rolled out three colors of polymer clay to achieve an ombre look (to make my whale more magical!). Then I took a black ink and gently pressed to stamp the whale on the clay.

I cut around the whale, freehand, with an exacto knife. It would be even easier to use the Sea Friends Die Set as a guide. Don’t run it through a cutting machine of course, but with your fingers, gently press the die into the clay.

Once cut out, make a little hole with a thin straw and then bake in the oven. When they’ve cooled down I smoothed the edges with sand paper.

As a finishing touch, add dots of paint.

Are you ready to create your own pendant? I know I will be picking up some polymer clay!

Dreamy Whale

Ushii Landia is back with projects to inspire. Ushii is a frequent YNS guest and we always enjoy her creations. Her signature style is soft no-line coloring and she shares more of that today. Thank you Ushii for joining us again!

Whales always look magical and very unique to me – so when I saw the one from the Sea Friends set I thought about this scene immediately – a dreaming white whale under the starry sky :).

I masked the bottom part of the stamp before inking and colored it in using the no line technique. Then I masked the whole whale and created the background with Distress Oxide inks.

When my background was completely dry I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment from the Magical and Magnificent.

Ushii will be back tomorrow with a fun new way to use your stamps – no paper involved!
