We are happy to announce that Svetlana Pavlova is a special guest with a few posts during the next week.
We are frequently asked how guests are selected. Many guests, are discovered when they play along with our challenges. Others are sharing their YNS creations and posting with #yournextstamp. We spied one of Svetlana’s creations on Instagram and immediately asked her to be a guest.
Now let’s turn the blog over to Svetlana and the 2 mini cards she created!
Hello everybody! I’m glad to be a guest designer for Your Next Stamp again.
Today I have two cards to show you. These are mini cards that look like honeycombs. I made each card using the Honey Bee stamp set.
The first card has a tunnel created by layering octagons of decreasing sizes.
This makes the honeycomb look more effective and interesting.
The second card is the same shape, yet leaves off the layers.
As I wanted to keep the focus on those gorgeous butterflies, I kept the rest of the card pretty simple. I die-cut the Flower Panel Die from white cardstock and adhered it to a white card. Is there anything more elegant than white on white? I used partial die-cutting and the Stitched Fishtail Banner Dies to create the banner for my sentiment, which I silver heat-embossed.
After adhering the banner to my card, I attached the butterflies. The profile butterfly was popped up with foam tape, and the other two were attached with liquid glue along the bodies. I bent up the wings for some dimension. I brushed clear sparkle on the wings and finished with a scattering of Spooky Cute Sparkly Gumdrops.
