July Guest Designer

Happy Friday!

It’s the 1st of the month so you know what that means…

I get to introduce you to our fabulous July guest designer – YAY!

This month I am pleased to announce that the fabulous Jenny Peterson is joining us – so glad to you have you join the YNS family Jenny!

Jenny is a Canadian gal and her creative and fun stamping style will surely make you smile! I noticed this card she made using Snorkel Fun Penguin and just knew I had to ask her to join us here at YNS.

Here is a little but of info about Jenny in her own words…

Hi there! My name is Jenny Peterson and I am hopelessly addicted to stamping! I have been scrapbooking since I had my first child, seven years ago. I don’t do it a whole lot though, as I find it quite time consuming and I never know when to quit! I started stamping about 3 years ago and I like that I can have quick results with a card. I have three little boys, ages 2, 5 and 7. I am married to my high school sweetheart and he hates all things stampy (he has a jealousy complex I think;). I am a Registered Nurse and teach nursing part time at a nearby college. I live with my family in the country in central Alberta, Canada. I love being creative and am a just kid in art class at heart:) I have had the privilege to design and guest design for some great companies and I am super excited to be this months guest DT for Your Next Stamp!

Check out this adorable card she made using the fabulous Fhiona Galloway image Fetch

Be sure to stop by her blog and give her a warm welcome to YNS!

Happy Stamping!

Thanks so much!

Hey everyone, Peggy here with you today!  I just wanted to share with you a quick little thank you card I made for one of the boys teachers the other day using Geek but Unique.

I stamped my image onto Copic X-press It cardstock and coloured it with copics and finished it off with a little bit of glossy accents to give the glasses a little shine.

There is still lots of time to play along with YNS challenge #45, black and white +1 more!  And don’t forget about the YNS 3 day sale still going on right now, all stamps are on sale, no special code needed!

Canada Post is finally back to delivering mail so I thought I would celebrate by having a Berry Sweet Stamp Sale to thank you, my fabulous customers, for your patience and support during the recent Canada Post strike.
The moment I heard that Canada Post would be back into action I immediately thought YIPPEE so I decided to ink up the adorable Yippee Fhiona and created this berry sweet card…
Here are a few facts about this card…

Happy Birthday Isabel

It’s Friday! YAY!

It’s my niece Isabel’s 3rd birthday today so we’ll be heading over to see the family tomorrow for her little birthday party. Brandon just adores both his cousins Catherine and Isabel so he is super excited to be hanging out with his little buddies this weekend. The fact that Isabel and Brandon are so cute together inspired me to ink up this super adorable stamp Fhiona and Her Best Buddy Fhinn. I think this stamp is so stinkin’ CUTE and it totally reminds me of Brandon and Isabel.

A few facts about this card…

  • stamped image using Brilliance Black Ink onto Copic X-press It
  • Colored with Copics
  • Ink frame is made by masking off the image and then sponging brown ink
  • Spellbinders Nestie is Labels Eight (a personal favorite!)
  • DP is from the Good Day Girl Sunshine Sampler Pack

Do you have any plans this weekend? I hope your weekend is full of fun and sun!

Until next time…

Happy Stamping!

YNS Challenge #45 – B+W+1

It’s time for YNS Challenge #45 – YAY!

I really have so much fun with these challenges because it forces me to try new techniques and color combos that I may not try without being challenged to do so. It also forces me to stop ‘working’ for a while and take a break to create something which is why I chose this career in the first place…as much as I truly love all aspects of running YNS I really truly LOVE stamping and creating and we all need to take some time for a little creative therapy! Right?

Beth is our hostess with the mostess for Challenge #45 and she has challenged us to use Black and White plus 1 other color! At first I was like EEK! how am I going to only use 1 other color but as I started creating my challenge card I realized how much fun it is working with black and white and decided to go with teal as my color choice plus I snuck in a little (I mean alot) of grey…shhhh don’t tell!

I went with a simple yet elegant style and I must say I’m quite pleased with the results…

I decided to ink up the adorable humming bird from the Humming Bird Beauty stamps set along with the sentiment from the Wishing You Wonderful stamp set. I paired it up with some Echo Park For the Record DP and of course some pearls and gems which I love to use on my cards! You can’t see the pretty shimmer in the photo but the white cardstock is Cryogen White which is a beautiful shimmery cardstock and it’s great for stamping and coloring with Copics! The black cardstock is from the shimmer collection pack – this is a really nice thick cardstock which I love using with my dies and punches.

We would love for you to join us so hop on over to the YNS Challenge Blog for all the details!

Happy Stamping!
