12 Days of Christmas – Day Four – Comment to Win!

Welcome to Day Four of the 12 Days of Christmas!

On each of the 12 days, the team and guests are sharing inspiration to get you ready for the holidays.  Today, designer Andrea Shell is sharing a fun way to give a gift card.

Remember, we are giving away a $25.00 YNS gift certificate!   Want a chance to win?   Leave a comment on each of the 12 Days of Christmas posts.  The more posts you comment on, the greater your odds of winning.  We will select 1 random comment, among all the comments left on the posts, as the winner.  Comments must be left by Sunday, December 16th at 11:59 pm est and the winner will be announced on December 18th.

Hello, YNS fans!

It’s Andrea sharing a cute gift card holder. Who says giving gift cards can’t be fun?! (And, really, who doesn’t like receiving them? 😉 )

Using the Gift Card Holder Die, I die-cut the holder from navy cardstock. I masked above and below the score lines on the outside of the holder and ink-blended with Faded Jeans and Black Soot distress inks to create my night-time sky. I flicked on some white paint to represent snowflakes.

I stamped that adorable sheep from Fleece Navidad with Black Olive Dye ink, colored her with Copics, and cut her out with the coordinating dies. The snowy hill was die-cut with the Double Pierced Hills Die Set and trimmed to fit the holder. Onto the hill I stamped a sentiment from Fleece Navidad. I die-cut the trees with the Skating Rink Scene Die Set and colored them with Copics. I adhered the hill to my gift card holder, tucked in the trees, and popped up the sheep with foam tape.

To dress up the front of the holder, I die-cut some plaid paper with the Gift Card Holder Die. I trimmed off all but the front flap and adhered it to my holder. Using another die in the set, I die-cut some pink cardstock and added it to my flap. The sentiment was die-cut with the Holiday Photo Booth Elements Die Set, as were the holly leaves and berries.

12 Days of Christmas – Day Three – Comment to Win!

Hello! It’s Kerri and for my 12 Days of Christmas project I decided to make 2 of my favorite things-a Tag and a Gift Card Holder!

For my Tag, I used the Cool Tag 4 Die Set, along with the adorable snowman from the Hot Cocoa Phoebe stamp set. I just LOVE him!!! I stamped him with Black Olive Ink and colored with Copic Markers. I do not have the die set so I simply cut him out with scissors. For the background I cut out a snowy hill using the Double Pierced Hills Die Set and added a tree cut with a die from the Skating Rink Scene Die Set. I added the snowflake from an older Whatnot Die Set and finally some Winter Wonderland Sparkly Gumdrops. So cute!

For my Gift Card Holder, I used the Gift Card Holder Die Set to cut the base out of the same Doodlebug designer paper that I used for my tag. I then stamped my darling image from Fleece Navidad with Black Olive Ink and colored with Copics. I cut it out with the coordinating Fleece Navidad Die Set and popped it up on my gift card holder with foam tape. I used a Fishtail/Banner Die Set One die to cut a banner out of white cs and then used my Mini Misti Stamp tool to line up and stamp the sentiment. Finally, I added a couple of Winter Wonderland Sparkly Gumdrops and it was complete!

The fun thing about using double sided dp for the gift card holder is the inside is already decorated! Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you are inspired to create some of your own holiday tags and gift card holders!

Hi everyone! I’m back today to share my project for the 12 days of gifts series that Your Next Stamp is having.
For my project today I made a card with a built in gift card holder. I know a lot of people are giving gift cards at the holidays-it’s such an easy way to say you care-and this just amps it up a little!
IMG_2454YNS
Today’s card is a fun and interactive card. I created it by making a shaker that looked like a snow globe. I cut a half of an oval from this stitched rectangle piece with the Stitched Ovals die. I only did half, and then trimmed the piece away with my scissors. To create the base I die cut three of the stitched rectangles from the Stitched Stripe Panel die from some brown card stock. I layered them and glued them at the base of the half oval. I also wanted a little snow mound for the gingerbread house to sit on, so I grabbed a scrap of white card stock and die cut a partial circle for that. Once my shaker and snow globe portion was put together and attached to the card base I added some more little touches.
IMG_2457YNS
I die cut the Snowflake Panel die from white card stock and added some glitter paste to make them really sparkle. The were attached to the card with a liquid adhesive. I also added some stickles dots, and heat embossed the sentiment from Holiday Mice. Then, I stamped out the gingerbread image to color with my Copics. The outside of my card was complete and it was time to create the gift card holder!
IMG_2458YNS
To create the gift card holder for the inside, I took one of my pre cut pieces of card stock. I have 4 1/4 by 11 pieces of white card stock on hand for card bases. It was also scored in the middle already, at 5 1/2. I folded it, and trimmed off about 4 inches. Then I used my score board to create a crease 1 1/2 inches from the center fold. I used the Stitched Oval again to die cut a partial oval from the folded piece, making sure not to over lap the second fold. It makes a little more sense when you see the picture!
IMG_2460YNS
Then I added some strong adhesive to the parts that would be touching the card base, and my gift card holder was complete! I just love how when the recipient of this card opens this a gift card will be waiting for them, popped up and pretty!
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you enjoyed my gift card creation. This is such a fun way to jazz up a gift card for the holidays.

Happy Stamping!

We will see you back here tomorrow for Day Three with Kerri Michaud.

Julie Elak is kicking off the series and she is sharing a fun idea for dressing up a purchased candy container.

Looking for a fast way to add some fun to a can full of treats?   Grab some patterned paper and your favorite YNS Christmas stamps and get inking!

I started off with a can of yummy raisins that I wanted to pretty up for the holidays.

Take patterned paper, ribbon and add a card of sorts to the top, to turn it in to…

Cut out 2 circles, one slightly smaller than the other to match the top of the can.  Decorate as desired.   Create a card for the top by scoring the smaller circle and adhering the scored section to the larger circle.  The inside sentiment is from the Paw-liday Pups stamp set – humans love treats too and the sentiment fits with the can full of sweet treats.
